About Us

School of Drama

Cue School of Drama founded by Ranga Jayaratne offers an original program for students interested in learning Drama and Theatre arts while improving their English language skills, verbal communication, self-expression and social interaction skills. We do this in a fun and engaging way with use of drama games and performance based activities.

EduDrama is the unique methodology used at CSD. EduDrama combines drama with planned educational outcomes to foster learning through interaction and active involvement. It also aims to engage children in using and extending their language communication knowledge and strengths.

Students attend fast-moving classes for one hour a week, according to their specific age-group.

Parent Days and an annual production allow parents and friends to see the progress of the students.

“I hear, I forget. I see, I remember. I do and I understand”, is an old Chinese proverb around which we have built our curriculum. We believe in practice; our students will be offered many opportunities to perform in classroom dramas and professional public shows. There are no examinations at the School because we know that students have enough academic pressure as it is which is why assessing of student progress is done through performance at CSD. Students will receive a certificate at the completion of a year at the awards ceremony, there are no failures at CSD for we believe in participation and encourage continuous learning.
